AtmoWorks is excited to welcome another new member of our ever-growing group of artists, Mike Radice. Mike's debut album with AtmoWorks, called 'Achieve' releases today and we can't say enough good things about this newcomer's work. Mike had this to say about his release.

"My first album Achieve is a very personal work that was created for the sole purpose of giving inspiration and enlightenment to the listener. Gaining the idea to do solo music from a final project for my final class in college, I spent the entire summer of 2009 constructing these eight pieces. It's a powerful work that's focused on driving and powerful complex rhythms and melodies.

I basically go with the gut instinct approach when creating music as opposed to following any rules. For me it's a very satisfying piece of work. These pieces were created using a large variety of instruments from all over the world including drums/percussion, flutes, horns and keyboard. It contains elements of world, tribal, ambient, dark ambient, and classical orchestration. "

Mike's command of rhythm and syncopation are on excellent display, from the opening of the title track through the martial attack of the final piece, "Unify". More experimental jazz than ambient, more world than drift - Mike Radice's "Achieve" is a powerful and relentless journey into pounding rhythms and native instrumentation.

AtmoWorks is proud to announce the release of Mike Radice's second album with us, Revive! A deep exploration into the heart of darkness with an array of sustained percussive ambient works, Mike Radice's Revive is a nicely woven mixture of acoustic recorded sources, and electronic wizardry. Reminiscent of Mickey Hart's Planet Drum and other world beat ambient works, Revive is sure to deliver a resounding blow to the global mind.

About Revive Album:

I began writing my second album Revive immediately after the release of Achieve. For Revive I was able to fully express my engineering skills based off what I learned from my father and various
college courses. Some new sounds were brought into this album including new percussion, flute, and keyboard sounds.

I also introduced my vocals which can be heard on tracks such as Become and The Last Tribe. Revive is a powerful work with more orchestrated textures and powerful rhythms.

Revive tells a story of the Earth's revival, evolution, downfall and destruction. The tracks are set in order as follows: "Revive" is the Earth completely renewed from the last major catastrophe. "Mammoth" is the arrival of the first major species born upon the planet. "Native" introduces the arrival of manlike inhabitants to walk upon the Earth. "Ancestor" is the manlike species in a more evolved state looking back at their ancestors to learn and gain knowledge from. Those ancestors being the natives from all parts of the world. At this point the mind continues to evolve and express new ideas. "Threshold" is all mistakes that are made from the ongoing lack of mental usage. At this point nature is rejected and everything becomes a power struggle. "Become" represents man having to evolve and learn to live in the chaos that he has made for himself. Man's dissolution becomes his reality. "The Last Tribe" represents some of the final surviving species to live amongst the planet. "Asteroid" is the final step in this journey. The asteroid hits and nothing is left but a damaged planet. Over the course of uncountable years the Earth is renewed and revives itself once again.
