Buried Traktora is a composition inspired by the notion that matter is a conduit enabling consciousness to travel through time.
Reincarnation, shape-shifting and pagan magick are related themes which guided the arrangements. The album is constructed from field recordings, processed environments, plus various treated electronic and acoustic instruments.

AtmoWorks kicks off 2010 with the latest release from long-time friend and recording artist Mark Tamea. Mark's latest work - "Metonymy" hits our shelves today and is a worth successor to 2008's "Tessellation" and is his third release with AtmoWorks since the re-launch of the label in 2007. When asked about his latest work, Mark responded:
"Out there beyond the surface of the curvature I can hear you all shuffling around. By use of this audible evidence I have concluded that the periphery above me is indeed concave. I have developed a knack for gauging refractive noise. I assume that you are aware of Plato's Cave? Those sounds are - to me - a precise metaphor for the shadows cast before the riveted prisoners, except in my case I am not chained to a wall but merely bridled to remain here beneath the great dome." You can read more of Mark's thoughts on the new release here. In musical terms, "Metonymy" is simply brilliant. Mark's kaleidoscopic compositional style and deft use of silence and suspension are in full force, the music pulling the listener along on a slowly evolving journey. Instrumentation is wide and varied, from found sounds and static drones, to plucked strings, percussion and bells. For fans of Mark's earlier work, "Metonymy" is a tour de force, while still providing an accessible entry point to his work for the novice listener. AtmoWorks is thrilled to welcome Mark Tamea back, and equally excited to start 2010 with "Metonymy".

In a week of seconds, Mark Tamea returns to AtmoWorks with his second release "Tessellation", a completely new 47-minute journey through lush electro-acoustic soundscapes. Mark had this to say about his latest work:
"Tessellation...contains audio information gleaned from some powerful environments. I concentrated particularly on procuring sounds and samples on original landscapes, as well as from several buildings washed in centuries of dedicated adoration. Amongst others, recordings were made in the aforementioned forests of the Ardenne, the Palais des Papes in Avignon, the glacial caves of Mount Blanc, and around the shoreline of the Lac de St. Croix, under whose waters lay the remains of a sunken village, Ste-Croix-de-Verdon. These were then interleaved with a second layer of recordings collected from daily experiences, and used as a basis to interpret the hidden lucidity I was searching for. Further emotional direction was emphasized with minimal orchestration and electro-acoustic elements. It is my intention that the listener begins an excursion drifting slowly further out of phase with baseline awareness, and that some of the morphic resonance collected from these locations makes it into their psychic construction kit. The album is divided into five parts for convenience, but is designed to be regarded as one piece." AtmoWork is thrilled to release Mark Tamea's "Tessellation"!
