Mark Tamea
Tessellation (mp3)
In a week of seconds, Mark Tamea returns to AtmoWorks with his second release "Tessellation", a completely new 47-minute journey through lush electro-acoustic soundscapes. Mark had this to say about his latest work:
"Tessellation...contains audio information gleaned from some powerful environments. I concentrated particularly on procuring sounds and samples on original landscapes, as well as from several buildings washed in centuries of dedicated adoration. Amongst others, recordings were made in the aforementioned forests of the Ardenne, the Palais des Papes in Avignon, the glacial caves of Mount Blanc, and around the shoreline of the Lac de St. Croix, under whose waters lay the remains of a sunken village, Ste-Croix-de-Verdon. These were then interleaved with a second layer of recordings collected from daily experiences, and used as a basis to interpret the hidden lucidity I was searching for. Further emotional direction was emphasized with minimal orchestration and electro-acoustic elements.
It is my intention that the listener begins an excursion drifting slowly further out of phase with baseline awareness, and that some of the morphic resonance collected from these locations makes it into their psychic construction kit. The album is divided into five parts for convenience, but is designed to be regarded as one piece."
AtmoWork is thrilled to release Mark Tamea's "Tessellation"!

Steve Brand
Because We Were Once Covered In Gold (mp3)
Steve Brand returns with his second AtmoWorks release, following up on the success of "SoulSpiral". His new release, "Because We Were Once Covered In Gold", is a 5-part journey through some of the most moving and subtly-textured ambient to date. Steve had this to say about the new release:
"'Because We Were Once Covered In Gold' was created about the same time as my album, "Bridge to Nowhere," and both were inspired by channeled material I was reading at the time. The gyst of that material is that our natural state is that of masters of a unimaginable number of realms and selves, and that we are in fact, limitless and empowered multidimensional beings, only temporarily encased in flesh and bone. Through the channels, these beings recalled long forgotten civilizations, planets and cultures far grander and creatively rich than ancient Greece or Egypt. I began to get a real sense of the depth of time, of place and of feeling that I wanted to convey and recreate in music. There were times when working on 'Because We Were Once Covered In Gold' that I sat back and listened to what I had done (or what came through me) and thought, 'When did I do that? WHO did that?' Created almost entirely of keyboard textures, only occasionally punctuated with bells and natural sounds, this album is meant to be a key for journeying, rediscovering and connection."
AtmoWorks is proud to release Steve Brand's "Because We Were Once Covered In Gold"!

MjDawn
Frequency Response (CDR, MP3)
AtmoWorks is proud to release this initial offering by artist MjDawn, entitled Frequency Response. This body of work delves deep into the manipulation and control of audio frequency. This magnetic swirl of electronic music will pull the listener deep into a subatomic soundfield of particles moving in kaleidescopic trajectories and transient geometrical diagrams that will keep the you in that state until the last soundbyte fades into a digital event horizon.
MjDawn is Matt McDonough, drummer for metal band Mudvayne. Although this is his first release of abstract electronic music, Matt has been working with synthesizers, machines, and samplers for many years. He's designed the sound collages for Mudvayne's first album LD50 and is also one half of the newly emerging MikroNaught with Vir Unis as well as a member of AtmoWorks. Matt as MjDawn has some great work ahead of him as a solo artist and we look forward to continue bringing you more of his work in the future.

Disturbed Earth & Steve Brand
Broken Gold (CDR, MP3 Download)
Broken Gold is a longform track composed by two very talented and prolific AtmoWorks' artists, Disturbed Earth & Steve Brand. Broken Gold seethes and undulates with a variety of very stereophonic and swirling atmospheric sounds that have been crafted by these two artists from their respective studios; one in Australia and one in the US.
In the ever revolving world of AtmoWorks collaborations, we're very pleased to be able to bring together Disturbed Earth & Steve Brand.

Peter James
IS (CDR, MP3 Download)
In Peter's own words:
The original idea behind the recording of “is” was to create an album using only very limited instrumentation, mainly bass guitar, and electric guitar – no synthesisers were used to make this album, only samples and loops made from bass and guitar work I had recorded in my studio. Often I would record an hours worth of stuff, only to come out of the session with maybe a minutes worth, or less, of useful sounds. It was recorded between june 2007 and july 2008. It wasn’t an easy journey. And that’s reflected in the overall tone and feel of the album. it’s also designed to be listened to loud, but it works well quiet, too. I’m not sure if it’s “dark ambient”, or “ambient” at all. I guess that’s not for me to decide. For me - It just “is”.
The download version of the album comes with extra artwork, and 3 different coloured “sleeves” – all created by the uk based graphic designer and photographer David Gregson.

Razzlog
Dark Side of the Mood (CDR, MP3 Download)
AtmoWorks is proud to announce the release or Razzlog's "Dark Side of the Mood" e.p. This new artist brings an array of beat driven electronica reminiscent of mid 90's ambient techno while retaining a fresh and contemporary approach. While Razzlog describes the process behind this album as a way to explore the darker side of his emotions, the music creates a sublime landscape of mysterious and unexplored territory sure to intrigue the most seasoned of sonic travelers.
This reduced price 17 minute e.p. is slightly different than many of our previous ambient releases - focusing more on the techno side of music rather than the ambient.
Available in 320 kbps mp3 or CDR.
